National Night Out at First United Methodist/Pottstown

First United Methodist Church at 414 E. High St. will host its second annual “Fire & Ice” event this year on National Night Out, Tuesday, August 5 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

They will be serving Pastor Will’s chili & Rita’s water ice.  

There will be a fire truck, fireman, dalmatian, simple craft, fire safety handouts, and experiments for children with a small volcano & snow-making in August!

Come out with the kids and enjoy a this hot-and-cold extravaganza!

Kelley McRae at coffee house concert tonight

First United Methodist Church of Pottstown (414 E. High St.) will be hosting its Fifth Coffee House Concert of the year on Friday, October 25th at 7 pm. The concert will feature the singer-songwriter Kelley McRae and her husband Matt.  Kelley is a gifted songwriter, vocalist and musician, with a gift for lyrics and a great voice.  You can read more about Kelly and listen to some of her at her website:  Join us for some wonderful music, good coffee, and tasty desserts!
In the last 2 years and a half years, the Kelley McRae duo has played over 300 shows coast to coast and traveled over 75,000 miles in their VW van. Along the way Kelley encountered the people and places that inspired the songs on her new album, BRIGHTER THAN THE BLUES. Kelley’s brand of heartfelt Americana has found impressive fans: Paste Magazine gave her four stars, and WNYC’s ‘Soundcheck’ named her performance one of the years best.
Kelley performs as an acoustic duo with her husband Matt, and they have performed at such venues as The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, The Red Clay Theatre in Atlanta, and The Living Room in NYC. Previously residing in NYC, the duo is currently writing and recording new material in a cabin in the Nantahala Forest of North Carolina.

Family Fun Fair at First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church is holding its 2nd Fall Family Fun Fair – FREE to ALL – on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 414 E. High St., Pottstown.  There will be a Bounce House, Pipper the Clown, Juggler, Face Painters, a Duck Pond, games & prizes, crafts, and live music.  A LIVE reptile show will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Room.  A free hot dog lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m.

Aug. 6th: Mark calendar now for National Night Out

There will be a variety of neighborhood-friendly activities on tap for National Night Out, America’s Night Against Crime, being held this year on August 6th.

First United Methodist Church at 414 E. High Street in Pottstown is participating and inviting the whole community to join them. They are sponsoring a “Fire and Ice” event, serving Pastor Will’s chili and Rita’s water ice to friends and neighbors from 6 – 8:30 pm that evening. There will be a Goodwill firetruck, firemen, dalmatians, and a craft for small children. Come on out to meet your neighbors, the first step in building a strong, safe community!

FREE Family Fun Fair at First United Methodist tomorrow!

First United Methodist Church, 414 E. High St., Pottstown, is hosting a FALL FAMILY FUN FAIR that is FREE to ALL on Saturday, September 29 from 11 to 3.

This is a celebration of their 175 years in the Pottstown community!

There will be hot dogs, cupcakes, games with prizes, and crafts.  They’ll have a bounce house, juggler, face painter, washable tattoo artist, balloon-animal maker, and fish pond.  One of the highlights is a puppet show in the Community Room at 1:00.  Please join in for a  FREE fun-filled day!
